************* He's from Cajun country, Marianne, and dirty rice is standard fare. It's got little pieces of diced meat in it. So sit yourself down to a big plate of gumbo, jambalaya, red beans 'n rice, and sumadat goooooood shrimp creole. Pass the hot sauce, please.

Can't remember if it stemmed from a book or not, but I remember this movie with Powers Booth in it and he's either chasing somebody or being chased thru one of those delightful Louisiana swamps and he comes upon a little Cajun village, out in the middle of nowhere, and it takes a few minutes and dwells on the locals and their half French half Indian language and shows someone running a trot line and I think they have a little Cajun party, too. That's all just a bit before the blood spills, of course. I'd like to see that movie again.
