I never read it, but an ex-girlfriend of mine did. If I remember what she said, it was a first person account of a killer. She liked it a lot. She didn't read much HB (was a big vampire fan), but she did read and like Ellroy's Silent Terror (AKA Killer on the Road), which she thought was good, but not as extreme/creepy as she expected, so I gave her Raymond's I Was Dora Suarez. That blew her away.
