************** Thanks for the recommendation, Mario. I haven't heard of this one. After reading others' posts, I take it that Coffin Ed and Grave Digger make up about a 7-book series. The only other Himes's I've heard of is _The Real Cool Killers_. I guess he's also written an auto- biography. If I recall correctly, he had a rough life.

Also thanks for taking the time to comment on the THH and Chandler styles.
