hi everybody!
well, i finished iceberg slim's _pimp_. i surfed thru amazon
and the rara-avis archives to see what others thought about
the book. it appears that there aren't enough superlatives in
english language to describe slim's book.
sorry to say it didn't impress me. the plot is uneven, the
scenes often poorly chosen or repetitive, the dialogue is
tiresome, the theme is murky, the descrip- tions ineffective,
and what could have been a great cast of characters is
reduced to a shallow backdrop for an egocentric
narrative.
