I have a book that shows the movie shot by shot. When Spade is awakened he is wearing pajamas and clearly was in bed. The bed is on the right with two windows in the background on the left. When he returns from seeing where Archer was shot it is the same setup. It remains the same when Dundy and Polhaus come to question him. He is sitting on the bed as they talk.

Judging by the windows the right wall, where the bed is, never is again shown so theoretically they have pulled up the chairs, and the bed is still there but not shown. Mark
