God, how embarrassment. Maybe I was too young when I
encountered all these people everyone's having a good laugh
over but I actually liked the stuff I was exposed to -
Algren, LAST EXIT, Rechy's CITY OF NIGHT & even the
Electric Prunes
(although all I know of them is "I Had Too Much to Dream Last
Night" & generally I prefer the Chocolate Watchband &
the Count Five). Please leave Bill Burroughs alone, or I'll
be too embarrassed to wear my Burroughs t-shirt in
public.
again. I may have read Selby & Rechy over 20 yrs
ago but I still don't believe they could've written anything
as bad as Ellroy's last but maybe I should re-read the books
before I make that claim.
