Postscript: Matheson has been a prolific Hollywood
screenwriter. Aside from stuff already mentioned, IIRC, he
wrote the screenplay for THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN (from
his similarly titled novel), one of the handful of great SF
films of the 1950's. His psychological suspenser, A STIR OF
ECHOES, was filmed a couple of years ago & there's quite
a few other successful films based on his work and/or
scripted by Matheson but I think I've mentioned everything
that may be of interest to list-members (noir or
noir-related).
