thanks for the recommendation on rabe, rene. in a couple months, when the "to be read" pile dwindles a bit, i'll go hunting for that one.

and i've got westlake and stark (they are the same person, i hope) on the list too. from what i've read here, _payback_ is a good one. i really don't want to buy a book with a picture of mel gibson on the cover, but sometimes sacrifices must be made.

i bought a westlake book called _the hook_ (i think) but when i read the back cover i kinda lost some enthusiasm about it... one author paying another author to kill his wife. hmm. is this book a good read?
