RARA-AVIS: Sorting the Charles Williamses: Taboada

I foolishly assumed, a while back here, that That Charles Williams was inadvertantly referred to, when Chas. Someone Else was meant (which turned out to be the case, of course, albeit another Chas. Wms.). That Charles Williams also wrote fantasy fiction, as he was a member of the Inklings with Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, among others less immediately recognizable.

Whereas This Charles Williams gets a good review or several from Bill Crider, both here and in THE BIG BOOK OF NOIR. TM

Charlie Williams:

<<Only Charles Williams I've picked up ever in London is The Hot Spot. It's good to have a Charles Williams on my shelves.>>

That one is a masterpiece. Both noir and hardboiled. Anecdotally: there is ANOTHER Charles Williams, a scholar who wrote on theology, I believe. That's who I'm referred to when I ask about Williams at the better used bookstores.
