This library book sale used to have a whole lot more of these sorts of books. When I first moved to Trinidad, I can remember picking up most of the Dan J. Marlowe Operation series there, along with several Matt Helm books and Shell Scott. The past few years, though, pickings have been pretty slim. Besides the Davis book, I picked up _Assignment: Marianne_ by Edward S. Aarons, also in a Gold Medal edition, along with a Dirty Harry book by Dane Hartman (are these any good? I don't recall them being discussed on the list), a Specialist book by John Cutter (this is John Shirley, right?), and an M.I.A. Hunter book by Jack Buchanan (I know Joe R. Lansdale wrote at least one of these). Those are for my collection.

For the library (I'm an English professor turned librarian at a small two-year college), I picked up a hardcover of Robert B. Parker's
_Taming a Sea-Horse_, a group of James Bond novels by Ian Fleming, a pair of Richard Stark Parker novels (I've already got my own set of these) and a couple of Ed McBain 87th Precinct novels. There were several others, but not hardboiled or mystery- related. And of course, last week I mentioned the luck I had when I stumbled over basically a library of Dashiell Hammett books in the Vintage/Black Lizard trade paperbacks at 25 cents apiece.
