Carl Constantine Kosak, of Greensburg, PA. About the Carlucci novels: I like them, as I like Rugs the character. It's not a question of finding a substitute for Balzic
(that would be impossible) but of making the town and its culture into the protagonist. I think it was a slick move, as well as a daring one given how much of KCC's fiction revolved around Balzic's very peculiar magic. Of course, there was always more than that (as in Joey's Case or Always a Body To Trade, for example).
