Anders, thanks for the heads up. I started reading Enemy's Enemy, and it did seem like it might be
"boring, bland bestseller-type prose", which is a pity
- it was quite hard to track down. You win some, you lose some. In January, I spoke to Donald Hamilton on the phone for an article about writers unfairly eclipsed by Ian Fleming. He lives in Visby now. Den Demokraten Terroristen had just been on Swedish TV, so I asked him if he had read any Guillou. He'd never heard of him (though his son had). I pointed out that the character is a Swedish aristocrat and secret agent called Hamilton, and he thought it very funny. "Surely that can't be coincidental!" he said. Seems it probably is, though.
