RARA-AVIS: The term "grass"

From: Mbdlevin@aol.com

Someone might have replied to someone (Colin's?) question about whether the term "grass" (to fink, rat) is used in the U.S. I've never heard it used here in speech, though maybe it has some regional life (and I'm not hanging around the prison yard too much). The first time I encountered the word was in the summer of 1985 when it appeared in a short story written by a student with a British passport. Anybody else know? Doug
