P.S. Since I'm asking offchance - can anyone recommend any other novels (or
 books in general) about trucking?

[warning: this post begins with a misplaced modifier that I'm too tired to fix] Not a trucking novel, but trucking figures in Willeford's "Woman Chaser." The movie within the novel ("The Man Who Got Away") is about a trucker who leads a miserable life hauling stuff between L.A. and San Francisco. Not really too much about this trucker, but the monotonous job is a sort of stand in for the monotony of working life. Doug
