officials, organized crime, moonshiners, had a pre-martial
on-going relationship with one of the ladies in town. Upheld
justice above and beyond the laws limitations. His character
was balanced with an incompetent partner who followed the
traditional role of a police officer and thus contrasted
Andy's outsider and lone wolf persona. The first country noir
hardboiled hero.
