As films go, I prefer To Have and Have Not over Casablanca,
recognizing that the former was an attempt to capitalize on
the latter. The Bogie/Bacall thing that was going on behind
the scenes is evident onscreen and adds weight to the
terrific banter.
Although it takes its time getting to its point, my favorite
Hem is The Sun Also Rises. This guy who's had his dick blown
off in the war in love with a woman who's just gotta have it.
From a character standpoint, what's more tragic than
that?
