One night , a year or so ago, I caught most of a movie on TV, whose title I've forgotten. It wasn't a bad flick - starred Dennis Hopper as a red-haired "skell"
(thank you, NYPD Blue) & Viggo Mortensen as his partner.(Check Vig out in "The Indian Runner" - he & the lead actor, name escapes me, put in brilliant performances - you forget how long & slow the movie is).A little later I read a book by Gerald Petievich, "The Money Men". Very quickly I recognised it as being the basis of this same movie. As I recall , the movie is so close to the book that as I was reading it my mind replayed the movie.(IIRC movie had different title to book). On the topic of Petievich - I strongly recommend his "Earth Angels" which is about LA's infamous CRASH anti-gang unit.I think it'll eventually be seen as a classic. Rene.
