Have you noticed that one of my favourite movies, Ronin, also
credits Yojimbo? That's been an incredibly influential
Kurosawa; but Kurosawa was also influenced by the Western,
wasn't he? Like Hammett/Chandler and their generation?
Dangerous to assume that there was conscious and curmudgeonly
intellectual theft going on here in an area that is so
iconic.
