Oscar Zeta Acosta wrote two autobiographical books of his own, The Autobiography of a Brown Buffalo and The Revolt of the Cockroach People. In addition, he was the inspiration for Dr. Gonzo in Hunter S Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and his later piece about trying to solve the mystery of Acosta's disappearance.
