Mark,
I meant THE LITTLE SISTER and PLAYBACK individually. I liked
THE LONG GOODBYE, but could feel Chandler stretching for
story there, too. Just an instinct.
To finally nail down my "well-rounded" comment, I'm referring
to the trend of today's authors overtly revealing their
characters in the text. I understand the appeal of not having
to see a character's sides to know they're there. Personally,
I want some blunt assurance now and then to go along with
"knowing."
