Re: RARA-AVIS: Landsdale & Tonto & Rush Limbaugh

Richard wrote of Joe Lansdale's take on the Lone Rangr and Tonto:

"In the first panel, Tonto slugs The Lone Ranger. Knocks him flat and walks off saying "Stay away from me. Forever...kemo sabe.""

It reminds me of the old Oscar Brown, Jr, song "The Lone Ranger," with the refrain "What do you mean we, Paleface?"

This also reminds me that a comparison, contrast actually, could be made between Hap and Leonard and Spenser and Hawk. Although both are first person narratives, I don't think anyone would consider Hap and Leonard anything but equals. Leonard ain't nobody's sidekick (although he is devastating when delivering a sidekick).
