I never said I disliked THE DAIN CURSE. It's one of my favorite PI novels (though I do prefer RED HARVEST).

What I said was that the fact that the serialized installments had to do double-duty as stand-alone short stories was more obvious in CURSE (as well as in BLOOD MONEY) than in HARVEST.

THE GLASS KEY was also written under these constraints, in, in that book, the seams don't show at all.
