I would like to second the recommendation of the Hammett Tour. Not only is it mandatory for any and all Avians, it's the best walking tour I've ever been on.

Sadly, in recent years it has been a summer only treat. But Don's doing a special series of October tours described below. If you're going to be in SF this month, don't miss it.

Dashiell Hammett Tour

Don Herron leads a three-mile, four-hour walk through the San Francisco of Sam Spade and the Continental Op on the Dashiell Hammett Tour. Hammett, author of The Maltese Falcon and The Thin Man, is the City's most famous mystery writer. Herron is one of the City's noted raconteurs, veteran of The Tentacle Sessions and over 20 years on the mean streets.

"Hammett and the San Francisco of the 1920s come to life again."

"Theatrical and thoroughly immersed in Hammett arcana."
