<<I have read a lot of Gores' books, but not all so I
may be unaware of a lot of his works. Does anybody have any
thoughts or knowledge about this?>>
For a writer of such stature, Gores hasn't written all that
much. In that, he differs radically from his two great
colleagues Block and Westlake. From interviews I've read,
he's not a compulsive writer.
I think he is Hammett's heir, despite having created no
equivalent of the Op. The affinity is in the crisp,
straightforward, lightly ironic style and in the ability to
create memorable scenes with the barest of materials.
In my opinion, _Hammett_ and _Interface_ alone would assure
him a place among the greats. Not that this needs
confirmation from me...

MrT
