Very interesting post, Jim. I'm looking forward to the next
installment.
I was going to try to read an L.A. novel before the end of
the month, so I started John Shannon's THE CRACKED EARTH. I
might not finish it before October at the rate I'm going. I
don't know whether it's me or the book, but one of us isn't
developing much momentum. I like the writing and the view of
L.A., but the plot isn't developing very rapidly.
