I just read The Fabulous Clipjoint by Fredric Brown. I'm
usual not a huge fan of amateur crimesolvers,
non-professionals meddling in murders. Though that is the
surface plot of this book (son and brother set out to solve a
man's death), veteran carney Ambrose Hunter has the skills
that are needed to walk down the mean streets of Chicago and
find out what he wants. His nephew, Ed Hunter, is a willing
and able student. Great book.
I seem to remember someone mentioning Brown wrote more books
involving the pair. Can anyone tell me their titles?
Thanks, Mark
