Thanks all for the info on one of my fave flicks the
Manchurian Candidate. I think that you are right and the
Guardian correspondent has merged the two, with a little bit
of myth and lore. I shall seek out 'Suddenly' and rewatch the
Manchurian Candidate, probably several times. The avalanche
of fascinating detail I now have on the film proves my faith
in Rara-avians (or whatever). So long for now Colin
