Fellow Rara Avians:

PWA has decided to cancel this year's Shamus Awards banquet (scheduled for November 1 in Washington, as part of Bouchercon) due to the tragedies that occurred in NY and Washington last week. They have issued a press release, announcing the winners of this year's Shamus Awards.

Best Novel: HAVANA HEAT by Carolina Garcia-Aguilera

Best First Novel: STREET LEVEL by Bob Truluck

Best Paperback: DEATH IN THE STEEL CITY by Thomas Lipinski

Best Short Story: "The Road's End" by Brendan DuBois.
