Johnny Dollar's expense account framing device was so radio
specific that the show stayed on the airwaves well after
virtually every other radio drama had died or migrated to TV.
I think the show may have lasted as late as 1964.
And BTW, the 5-part episodes from the mid and late '50s, with
Bob Baily playing Johnny Dollar, are considered some of the
best radio dramas ever made. They're excellent fodder for
those of you tired of reading 2nd and 3rd rate '50s
paperbacks because you've already read the good stuff.
