Sure. It's a continent. Another writer I'm very fond of is Davis Grubb. His _Night of the Hunter_ is superb. This is prime material for a course that also deals with movies. And Gil Brewer (another Gold Medal guy) was trashy and melodramatic but is hypnotic while you're reading him.
