During my time, when I was in the Army in Europe, I rode in
all-purpose "jeeps" (same idea but not same design) having
a... Rolls Royce motor. It gave a kind of reliability feeling
(probably wrong anyway)knowing that the engine came from the
R.R. stable.
I think they also did bigger motors for light armour
vehicles...
But it's fair to confirm they manufactured aircraft engines
as well...
