I have that collection, and took a look. At the end of THE SCREAMING MIMI, Sweeney is alive, and sitting on a park bench talking to Godfrey, nicknamed God. In the alternate ending, he was attacked by the dog Devil and stabbed by Yolanda, and finds himself sitting with the real God. God offers him a drink of some fine stuff from a flask, and tells Sweeney Yolanda will die in two years and will join him then. He can wait, and write, or compose, or do whatever he wants. He can drink and drink and never get a hangover. It ends, "Sweeney sighed happily and reached for the silver flask."

The extract is about three pages long.
