my favorite bookseller informs me that Ellroy and
writer/producer Dick Wolfe have optioned Wendy Hornsby's 77th
Street Requiem for film. Hornsby is unfortunately one of
those mid-list authors who lost her publisher, at great loss
to her public. hopefully if this project gets made it will
turn her fortunes around.
Hornsby is a surprisingly tough writer, especially for
someone named Wendy.
