Dear Juri,

The private eye "Michael Shayne" was created by Davis Dresser (b 1904, d 1977) under the pseudonym of Brett Hailliday.

Dresser also wrote as "Asa Baker", "Mathew Blood", "Kathryn Culver", "Don Davis", "Hal Debrett", "Anthony Scott" and "Anderson Wayne".

Michael Shayne was one of the most popular private detectives ever: the red-haired Miami P.I. first appeared in the 1939 novel, "Dividend on Death", by Davis Dresser, published under the pseudonym Brett Halliday.

Dresser wrote 50 Shayne novels. Another 27 more were written by Robert Terrall and published as paperback originals by Dell, still under the pseudonym Brett Halliday.

There are about 300 short stories, a dozen films, radio and television shows and even a few comic book appearances of Mike Shayne.

Regards

Carlos
