I just zipped through Corpsing by Toby Litt on a long haul
flight to the States. Entertaining stuff with the narrator
settling a little too easily into the aggrieved (i.e. shot
and nearly killed) party as detective/force of vengeance
cliche. Also it was a tad Brit-Lit, Po-Mo, nudge-nudge,
wink-wink with the author ironically having the narrator note
the irony of a crime taking place outside the Murder One
bookshop in the Charing X Road. At least there was no review
by Mr Jakobowski inside the front cover... or was
there?
