I read the Gary Disher books before I came across my first Parker novel. I remmember being pretty annoyed at thinking what a shameful rip-off the Wyatt series was. Some of the plots are way too close to Parker's for my liking.

I was very suprised to Westlake reccommending the Wyatt novels and wondered if there may be a hint of irony in such a recommendation.
