I slightly reformatted what Gary Warren Niebuhr sent around a few weeks ago and now it's up at

Thanks to Mr. Niebuhr. The first ten books are:

  2. The Private Practice oF Michael Shayne (1940)
  3. The Uncomplaining Corpse (1940)
  4. Tickets for Death (1941)
  5. Bodies Are Where You Find Them (1941)
  6. The Corpse Came Calling (aka The Case of the Walking Corpse) (1942)
  7. Murder Wears A Mummer's Mask (aka In A Deadly Vein) (1943)
  8. Blood On the Black Market (aka Heads You Lose) (1943)
  9. Michael Shayne's Long Chance (1944)
 10. Murder and the Married Virgin (1944)

There are 70 on the list, published up to 1976. During December, read any Mike Shayne books you can get your hands on, but go for an earlier one if you have a choice. They're all fairly short. If you have any copies of MIKE SHAYNE'S MYSTERY MAGAZINE, read those too!
