I remember Booth as being a very good Marlowe, big and blocky and solid.
(As fine as Bogey was, physically he's nothing like Chandler described.) The sets and costumes and all that were great. IIRC, it was an Anglo-American co-production, and the exteriors were shot in LA but the interiors in England, or something like that.
