Yes, the film is quite good and I'm glad to hear it's being
reissued. Willeford started out playing a small role in it,
but as budgetary and other matters intruded, his role grew
into a significant one. He's quite a good actor (of course,
he had quite a bit of experience doing theater, radio
broadcasts, and commercials before acting in this film). I'd
recommend borrowing a copy of Willeford's COCKFIGHTER JOURNAL
(they're pretty expensive to buy these days). It's a gem of a
book, recounting his experiences working with Roger Corman
(whom he liked), Warren Oates and Harry Dean Stanton (whom he
loved), and Monte Hellman (whom he disliked).
