Fredric Jameson also has another interesting Chandler piece
called "The Synoptic Chandler." It's in an anthology called
Shades of Noir, edited by Joan Copjec (I think I bungled that
name horribly though). Shades of Noir is by far my favorite
theoretical look at noir. Check out Slavoj Zizek's essay on
Blade Runner in the same volume. The whole book reflects a
more experimental look at noir, with a strong psychoanalytic
focus. Highly recommend it.
