I was flipping through some LPs (those big vinyl things
before CDs) last night when I happened to notice the liner
notes of folkie Dave Van Ronk's Song for Ageing Children were
written by a Lawrence Block. I sent an email to the mystery
writer to find out if they were written by
_the_ Lawrence Block. He replied, very promptly, I might add,
that they were indeed and he took the title and epigraph for
When the Sacred Ginmill Closes from the song Last Call on
that album.
