It's been quiet on the rara-avis front...

I just wanted to ask about Ernest Tidyman, who wrote "Shaft" and some screenplays. Is (was?) he an African-American? I claimed to a person that he is, but then I realized that I'm not sure.

And I thought I'd warn you to never read Charles Bukowski's
"Pulp". Simply ridiculous, not funny, poorly written, not even very original. If you like Bukowski, don't try it, if you like crime, don't try it. I don't know anyone who could enjoy it.
