Peter, How about Darlin' Bill? I don't remember it well
enough to say definitely , but it probably goes into the the
hard boiled western category. I think his books may be too
complex to be very popular among the mass of mystery
readers,yet because they are classified as mysteries they
have not been looked upon as literature. Maybe that is not so
in places other than the U.S. Mark
