Actually, as I remember it, and the memory is dimming, the
narration was done in the form of his expense account:
ITEM: five bucks for cabfare to the Hotel Gritz, plus a
two-bit tip. ITEM: two bucks to bribe the Gritz doorman to
let me poke around in Linda LaTouche's suite.
That sort of thing.
