I'll second (or third) the recommendation of Burke's The Lost
Get-Back Boogie. Good location work, nice characterizations.
And it's brief. Bought it recently in a Barnes and Noble,
discounted as the freebee that was shrink-wrapped with a
hardback copy of In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead.
(Someone stop me if the latter is a Burke best left
unopened.)
