RARA-AVIS: Spanish Hard-Boiled

I'm also wondering who Manuel Vazquez Montalban is. Come to think of it, I really can't think of any Iberian or Latin-American hard-boiled, unless one can consider Borges' early tango-crime stories hard-boiled. I have Cortazar's Hopscotch, I believe I read somewhere that in some circles it was considered hard-boiled, but I can't be certain.

Any info on Spanish HB people?
