Peter Bowen's Gabriel Du Pre novels are Coyote Wind Specimen
Song Wolf, No Wolf Notches Thunder Horse Long Son
He has also written three YELLOWSTONE KELLY novels which are,
I understand, picaresque westerns. I've never read any. I
have read all of the Du Pre books, however. Bowen is one of
the most singularly gifted authors to surface in the last
couple decades. He is a truly remarkable talent. If you've
any money left over, buy Daniel Woodrell. Under the Bright
Lights Muscle for the Wing The Ones You Do Give Us A Kiss
Tomato Red
He also did a Civil War book called (and this has to be one
of the all-time great titles) A WOE TO LIVE ON.
Just doin' my thing for literacy . . . PB
