Charlie, to everyone who complains of bloated books, I am
recommending Maximum Insecurity by P.J. Grady. It's lean and
mean, weighing in at 60,000 wds max. And it has a real ring
of authenticity to the penitentiary scenes, owing to the
author's previous employment with the New Mexico Dept of
Corrections. It comes from a small publisher (in a very nice
softcover edition with a great cover) but if your local
stores don't have it, it is available from Amazon.
