I checked Truffaut's Hitchcock book and it ends with "Torn
Curtain" and couldn't include any information about
Hitchcock's intentions to film Elmore Leonard! There must be
a newer edition of the book. The Finnish translation is from
the early eighties.
By the way, if you want the read a very very short story, try

But mind you, it's very blasphemous (if anything is
today...).
