The last one in the series - a kingdom for a name! my memory fails me - was a return to the non-spy stuff of the "The Name".

I just finished "Never Live Twice". It's a noirish book and not bad, but somehow Marlowe isn't home with this kind of stuff - there isn't much action and the flashbacks the protagonist has never get explained fully. Maybe the translation wasn't complete. (It's sometimes hard to evaluate these books, because you never know when the translation is abridged due to too much violence/sex or political reasons - anti-Soviet was a curse in Finland still in the eighties.)
